"I love Paris in the Springtime."

- Cole Porter

Paris in the spring is at its most seductive, inviting, and irresistible. The city is a riot of color and intoxicating scents. The days stretch longer and the markets brim with seasonal delights like white asparagus and sweet strawberries.

We’ll walk the streets and discover a Paris many people never see, exploring things we never knew existed. This is Paris insolite—unusual—the Parisian’s Paris, far from the madding crowds.

"Nice is not just a place, it's a feeling."

- unknown

We will find Nice emerging into its most glorious with flowers blossoming and sun beaming down upon us. Imagine yourself walking along the beach with sparkling waves on one side and light music from the beach clubs on the other. You might think of Nice as just a beach town, but it's got a rich history and incredible beauty.

With the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean as our backdrop, we will explore the area in and around Nice. We will discover botanical gardens, walk the coast to hidden beaches, picnic next to Roman ruins, sample food specialties of the region, stroll the harbor (and take a boat ride, of course!), and marvel at the way the ocean can change from one shade of blue to a different shade of blue to yet another shade of blue!

We will stop to smell the flowers. We will follow our curiosity. We will take delight in the details. We will treat time as the special gift that it is. We are curious wanderers enjoying the opportunity to see things with fresh eyes and forge new connections - with ideas, with other people, with ourselves.

What will we be doing?

April 6 – Arrive in Paris! We will welcome you to the boutique hotel and allow you the evening to rest, unpack, and get comfortable as only you know how.

April 7, 8, & 9

Below is a list of a few things that could happen, knowing that we will leave space for special events that may be going on in Paris because interesting, fun things are always popping up! Weather affects an itinerary, too. It may be gorgeous, prompting a day designed around a park and its adjacent neighborhood. Or it may be a downpour, prompting us to duck inside and explore things. But with absolute certainty: The experiences we share in Paris exist only in Paris and are not for sale in any store. Here are some moments of joy we've experienced in the past:

April 10 – Train travel to Nice – All aboard the “very fast train” to Nice! Lane will see you off at the station. Grab some reading material and sit back and relax as you are whisked to the French Riviera in less than 6 hours. Libby will meet you upon arrival and escort you to your hotel in Nice. After a break, we will make our way to a lovely family-owned  bistro for an authentic French dinner

April 11Welcome to Nice – We will start with a walking tour for orientation, then have a picnic lunch with stunning views over the sea. Our afternoon will be spent wandering the harbor and will include an ocean excursion. After a break, we will meet up again for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.

April 12Day trip to an unbelievably magnificent seaside villa with an immense botanical garden just outside of Nice. After our lunch there, we will stroll down to a hidden beach and we will walk along the coast with its stunning views.  Ending up in a picturesque seaside town, we will either enjoy our happy hour or dinner, depending on our whims.

April 13 – For the morning, you’ll have several options! Savoring your hotel bed? Relaxing on the beach? Finding a few souvenirs? Strolling the market? People-watching from a comfortable café chair? Libby will work with the group and point or guide, depending on the group's wishes. We will then meet up for a food tour to sample the amazing, unique regional dishes. The evening will find us in the lap of luxury at an exclusive happy hour location.

April 14 – We will bid you adieu! We will help get you on your way to your next destination.

Depending on weather and our own interests and/or anything out of our control, this itinerary may be subject to change.

What will we eat?

Gastronomy is king in France! Not only will you not go hungry, but you will be treated to some of the most memorable meals of your life!

Where will we stay?

A note from your guides, Lane and Libby

Lane Rosenthal, Paris Off Script

Bonjour! I’m Lane, your friend in Paris. I am an expert in things other than the highlights of Paris. Those things that French writer Georges Perec described as “what happens when nothing happens.” Historical walkways, secret gardens, unexplored neighborhoods, the places we don’t see because we’re off looking at something else—these are my haunts. I breathe life into the rich stories they hold, stories of how Paris came to be Paris.

My superpowers? Curiosity, enthusiasm, energy, and a sense of humor. I bring experience, creativity, and fluency in French to enlighten each guided visit. Paris is my passion. So bring your curiosity, your sense of awe, and your sense of humor and let’s be flâneurs together.
