Not everyone will need a host on-site, but how do you even start to plan a trip to France? How do you pick which area to go? How will you get there? When will you go? Where will you stay? What should you see? What should you eat, and where? Will you need a car? Do you have a thousand questions? If you are in need of some practical advice, read on -
I have spent countless hours researching and traveling the various regions of France, so I know the best places to go, the unusual places to visit, and what you can skip.
I know the best way to travel to and around the various regions of France.
I know how to select the right area in town or countryside for your lodging needs.
I have planned vacations for mixed-age groups of people, and I can help you find the right activities for the different types of traveling companions.
I give recommendations and advice based on your preferences, your wants, and your needs, not because I have relationships with companies or groups. I am an independent consultant which means that my focus is on giving you the best experience (so that you'll give me repeat business and referrals)!
Here's the thing: I actually enjoy spending hours digging into French travel sites, reading travel books, and listening to experts! I have fallen down many a deep rabbit hole on the internet; I would love to plan your trip. Email Libby now to get started on your plan!
At Gallivant & Traipse we believe excellent travel planning should be clear, tailored, and stress-free. That’s why we break the planning and preparation journey into three simple steps: you choose how far you’d like to go (and you can always build on it).
We begin with a free, friendly 60–minute talk to dive into where you’re going in France, how long you’ll stay, what you really want to experience and what budget and pace feel comfortable. We’ll cover questions like: Do you and I work together well? Can we fit in everything on your wish-list? What mode of transportation will make the most sense? What should be added—or skipped—for your best trip?
You’ll receive an outline of Day One. This should be enough information for you to get a sense of if Gallivant & Traipse is a good fit for planning the rest of your trip.
The turnaround time on Day One Outline should only be a few days. No revisions.
If you like what you see and want to move forward, we’ll craft your daily plan with precision and personality. You’ll receive:
A full day-by-day schedule including timing suggestions and hotel recommendations
A downloadable itinerary with links and contacts
This design gives you everything you need to visualize and refine your journey.
The turnaround time to complete the itinerary should be about a week. Every revision round is an additional $100.
We can do even more! Once you’re delighted with the itinerary, you can roll into the booking phase. We’ll make the reservations (hotels, transfers, tours, guides, car rentals, train tickets), secure your admission tickets, and compile it all into a convenient itinerary so you arrive ready, relaxed, and confident. Also included:
Restaurant, café and bistro recommendations and will make reservations if you'd like.
Transportation guidelines (taxis, Ubers, walk, Métro) tailored to each leg.
The turnaround time to complete the Fully Booked Itinerary should be about a week. Every revision round is an additional $100.
Your fee pays for my time researching, coordinating behind-the-scenes, my expert destination knowledge, and the peace of mind you’ll have while traveling.
All fees must be prepaid and are non-refundable once you've signed the agreement.
The sooner we start after your date-range is confirmed, the better the options (especially for hotels, guides and private tours in France).
Turnaround times are estimates. My travel calendar is shared with you at the start of your planning period, so you'll always know what to expect.
For groups larger than ten there will be a supplementary booking fee of $100 per person beyond the first ten.
Post-booking changes are billed at my hourly rate ($50 per hour, billed in hour increments).
On-trip support: I'll let you know before you depart whether I'll be reachable during your travel dates — if so, email me if something goes sideways.
Accepted payment methods: Zelle, or check. Venmo and PayPal are also accepted but accrue a 3% fee.
Gallivant & Traipse does not book air travel.
